Inside 3DEXPERIENCE World: A geek’s paradise

Esme Atalay

Country Marketing Manager

Each year Dassault Systèmes organizes 3DEXPERIENCE World, which gathers professionals and enthusiasts, who work with SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE.

The purpose is to bring together people who are passionate about the software programs. Moreover it is about providing people with opportunities to learn, network and share their knowledge and experiences.

This years event in Nashville was truly anticipated after years with pandemic and lockdown, and my colleagues were excited to attend. Lennart Tinndahl and Christoffer Stokkebro, our technical specialists who both attended, shares their take on the special atmosphere, the passionate people and what we can await from SW 2024.

A geeky yet mega cool atmosphere

“Everyone has this common interest in creating innovation through their work, with SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE as the common focus. Everything is set up in a impressive way with huge light and stageshows. Yet, the people you meet are still down-to-earth – even the CEO of SOLIDWORKS, whom we enjoyed breakfast with” says Christoffer. He attended the event for the first time.

Lennart last visited 3DEXPERIENCE World five years ago, when he had just started working at PLM Group. Back then, he were mostly running around like a headless chicken (in his own words) at the event. This year was different in so many ways.

He is now a well-known champion in the community, he had his own session presenting for a room full of people, and he received his Elite Application Engineer Award, which, by the way, Christoffer also did. How cool is that?

A must-attend at 3DEXPERIENCE World

When asked what was a must-attend at the event, the team mentioned the general sessions. These were held daily with the SW-leaders as they discussed the future and trends in SOLIDWORKS – while also reflecting back on the last couple of years.

“Another highlight for me at the event, was ‘The Playground’, formerly known as ‘Partner Pavilion’. I got the chance to meet SOLIDWORKS partners, sponsors and makers and see hardware and software demonstrations. It was truly amazing to see all of the innovative products and ideas that were being showcased” says Lennart.

For Lennart, however, the real value of 3DEXPERIENCE World was in attending sessions with experienced SW-users who shared their knowledge.

“Essentially, it’s 3000 nerds gathered in one place. It’s no surprise that I learned so much from the planned sessions. I left the conference feeling inspired and motivated to take my work to the next level” he adds.

The key takeaway

“What I got confirmed in during the event is that 3DEXPERIENCE literally is the future with its endless possibilities. The platform is in rapid development and is getting bigger and better every day. The plan is to make it even more accessible during the summer, where access to 3DEXPERIENCE will be included with every licensing of SOLIDWORKS” says Christoffer.

They both recommend everyone who hasn’t attended 3DEXPERIENCE World yet to participate in the future. It’s a guarantee for an educational experience, whether you want to network, explore new technology, or gain deeper insight.
