Unlike traditional files, these items are not always physical documents like SOLIDWORKS assemblies or parts. However, subscribing to them can be beneficial if you want to be notified when specific changes occur such as when a team member promotes a file to a different maturity state.

Steps to Subscribe to Items in 3DEXPERIENCE
- Select the Item: Begin by selecting the item for which you want to receive notifications. If you would like to select multiple items, use the shift key for bulk selection.
- Access the Subscriptions Menu: With your item(s) selected, navigate to the top menu and click on the “Subscriptions” option.
- Subscribe to the Item: Click on the “Subscribe” button. You will receive a confirmation message indicating that you have successfully subscribed to all notification events for the selected item(s).
- Understand the Notification Events: By subscribing, you will get notifications for specific events, such as when an item is revised or promoted. For instance, when a part moves from a lower maturity state to a higher one- for example from “In Work” to “Frozen” or from “Frozen” to “Released”. It’s also possible to get notified when files are added.
- Receive and Respond to Notifications: Whenever a subscribed event occurs, you will receive a notification in the top corner of your screen. You can click on the notification bell icon to view details and take further action, such as opening the file directly in the collaborative lifecycle app or another application like 3DMarkup.
