3D printing with Markforged just became smarter

Mattias Kristiansson

Product Marketing Manager 3D Printing - Sweden

Digital Forge is Markforged’s latest cloud software, connecting the total global install base of Markforged 3D printers, currently 12,00+, with AI and machine learning together the file prep software Markforged Eiger.

By doing this the company wants to enable more efficient workflows, shorter lead times and cheaper printed parts for all Markforged users. By learning from vast amounts of print data, Markforged printers will become smarter.

The Digital Forge is the first and only industrial additive platform that uses something called fleet federated learning to make the platform smarter and parts better with each print. The Digital Forge platform is constantly learning from data being generated across its fleet of printers – all Markforged installations over the world. The data can then be used to instantly course correct print jobs. As a result, the parts are more accurate than can be achieved from mechanical hardware alone. And because the platform itself is cloud-based, it can be constantly updated and enhanced so that customers are always able to leverage new advancements.

Companies all over the world, including the 10 biggest aerospace companies, 12 of the 14 largest automotive companies, and five of six US Armed Forces branches, have already started using the Digital Forge. It enables them to rapidly develop the parts they need at the moment they need them, from a location that gets them into the markets demanding them. This ensures that companies can keep their businesses moving forward efficiently despite the constraints and uncertainties caused by the dynamic world we live in.
