Peel 3 scanner comes with haptic feedback and improved resolution

Mattias Kristiansson

Product Marketing Manager 3D Printing - Sweden

Following the success with the peel 1 and peel 2 scanners, Creaform’s brand peel 3D releases the professional-grade peel 3 scanner, with a resolution 2.5 times better than the peel 2, plus a bunch of smart functions.

Peel 3 features a completely revamped ergonomic design, intuitive multi-function touchscreen and an industry-first haptic user communication through vibration. The new scanner also has elevated performance with intricate objects and colors, and included data acquisition software.

Haptic feedback guides the peel 3 user

A world-premiere for handheld 3D scanners, peel 3 features a haptic feedback function. This function emits several recognizable vibration patterns to guide you when you scan hard-to-reach places without a direct line-of-sight. Real-time feedback at its best. The feature will help you to optimize the accuracy of your scan.

Improved 3D scanner ergonomy

Peel 3’s unique multi-grip triangulated handle has been designed to be comfortable in most common 3D scanning positions. The new multi-function and intuitive touchscreen gives you a brand-new way to interact with your peel 3d scanner. It can also be used as a distance meter to easily scan without looking at your computer.

“In addition to the boosted performance specs and innovative design of the new peel 3 3D scanners, the fact that each can be supported with integrated and powerful scan-to-CAD software is something the market has never seen before for this category of 3D measurement solution,” says peel 3d Program Manager, François Leclerc. “This clearly shows our commitment to democratizing the entire 3D scanning experience for users in many fields.”

Peel 3 integration with SOLIDWORKS

The peel 3 comes with peel.OS. It is a software developed to allow users to transform scans into 3D printable CAD-ready files. This easy-to-use data acquisition program lets users easily “process, clean, align, improve and export” 3D models.

If you want smoother integration with SOLIDWORKS or other preferred CAD software, there is also the bundle peel 3.CAD. The package includes peel.CAD – a reverse engineering software tailored specifically for your 3D scanner. Prepare scans to transform them into CAD files in your favorite CAD software. Take advantage of ultra-fast processing times that optimize meshes and extract all the geometrical information you need in your CAD software.

Peel 3 handles a wide variety of use areas

Peel 3 can handle any application in: aftermarket & tuning, AR, VR & digital content, education, heritage preservation and art, product design, healthcare, and MRO and engineering. Some of the applications that you can 3D scan includes:

  • High-fidelity objects
  • Digital archiving
  • Human anatomy
  • Orthotics and prosthetics
  • Handmade objects
