PLM Group is joining forces with Dutch AM automation specialist AM-Flow. The focus for the companies is to investigate the need for automated postprocessing among companies that are already using 3D printing as part of their manufacturing line.
AM-Flow delivers building blocks to automate the 3D printing process, creating an AM production flow. To achieve this, the company combines 3D-shape identification, industrial machine vision, and AI software, together with the integration of AM production line hardware and MES software, AM-Flow delivers building blocks to automate the 3D printing process end-to-end.
“The Nordic market is adopting additive manufacturing at high speed”, says Gøran Jensen, Business Area Manager, 3D Printing at PLM Group. “As volumes are increasing, we see the need to automate processes to remove bottlenecks for to take additive manufacturing to its true potential. We see that the solutions and partnership AM-Flow is providing will help us and our customers find more sustainable AM processes.”
“The partnership with PLM Group enables us to support their customers in creating a full AM end-to-end automated production line”, says Carlos Zwikker, Commercial Director, AM-Flow. “Bringing AM production automating to the next level is key to mitigate labor and failure costs at sorting & packaging. It also enhances internal tracking & tracing, drives process certification, and enables substantial further scaling with limited team expansion”.
“We are still quite a long way from a ‘lights out’ factory but that is definitely the point in the future we are aiming for”.
