November is here and that means that a new exciting release of SOLIDWORKS is just about to be launched. From over 200 user-driven new enhancements in this 33rd software release, it is not easy to pick just three as your favorite but here is my try to cherry-pick the best new features in SOLIDWORKS 2025.
1. Interference in Large Design Review
Since the introduction of Large Design Review back in 2012 it has been a great way to quickly open very large assemblies. Almost every release has brought new functionality into this mode, and it is no longer a mode just to view the graphics of the model and SOLIDWORKS 2025, expands the capabilities even further, since you now can calculate interference detections in Large Design Review.
This means that you can open a huge model in just a few seconds and then quickly find if you have any interfering parts, and if any exits, quickly fix these. No longer need to perform a time-consuming resolve of the whole assembly, before checking for interferences. I think this will be a great time saver for many users.

2. Pattern Reference Geometry
Ever wanted to create several reference planes or axes at once and make them parametrically follow your geometry? Well, at least I have, and now in SOLIDWORKS 2025, I can do it in a breeze.
Just use the normal Pattern command where you now will find a section to select reference geometry. Of course, you still can use options like Up to Reference and Instances to skip with reference geometry as well.

3. Repair Dangling Relations
Sometimes, when you do modifications to your model, references to dimensions and/or relations go missing, and the dimension/relation will become dangling and shown in olive green on the screen.
Even though there have been some tools in the previous releases to repair these dangling dimensions/relations, there are now 2 new great tools in SOLIDWORKS 2025 that will speed up the process of repairing dangling entities.
If you right-click a dangling entity, you will find the new Auto Repair Sketch Relation or Dimension command, which is very handy to use if you only have one or a few dangling entities.

If you have several dangling entities, you can also, in the Display/Delete Relations PropertyManager, use Repair All Dangling to automatically repair all dangling entities in that sketch.

In both cases, you will get a confirmation if SOLIDWORKS manages to repair or not.

BONUS – Command Predictor
As a bonus, I would just like to mention that AI technology now has made it into the SOLIDWORKS software, in addition to all other places where you may find AI in modern society. You can now activate a new tab in the CommandManager called Command Predictor. The contents of this tab will change based on what you select and use AI to predict what tools you most probably will use next. The more you use this tab, the more precise it will be in its predictions. Note that this functionality is still in Beta state.
