Make sure your company meets the following criteria before applying to be part of the SOLIDWORKS for Startups Program:
- Have less than $1M in revenue
- A physical product that can be designed in CAD: no service companies or consultants
- The company must be less than five years old
- Currently not a SOLIDWORKS customer

Can I get SOLIDWORKS for free?
Yes. If you meet the requirements for the SOLIDWORKS for Start-Ups program, apply, and are accepted, you will receive SOLIDWORKS for free for your company for one year.
How many users are included in the SOLIDWORKS for Start-Up program?
Typically, you can receive up to 5 licenses when you join the program. If you have a need for more, you reach out to us.
What happens as our business scales?
As your company grows, our solutions for start-ups are scalable to fit your needs. We can provide various tools for product development including CAD, CAM, simulation, and PLM solutions.
What if our start-up doesn’t meet the start-up program requirements?
If your start-up doesn’t meet the program requirements, please reach out to us and we can help you find solution that fits your needs.
What happens after our first year with free licenses?
After the first year, you can continue in the program with discounts for the following 2 years.
Is simulation software included in the SOLIDWORKS for Start-Up Program?
Yes, the licenses within the program include access to SOLIDWORKS Simulation during the first year. It is also possible to upgrade to more advanced simulation tools such as SIMULIA for an additional cost.
How do Service Plans work for Startups?
Startups who are in the SOLIDWORKS for Startup program receive an Elite Service Plan free for their first 12 months. Then, the service plan follows the same structure as the SOLIDWORKS for Startups program with a 70% discount in year two and a 50% discount in year three.
