Creating a curriculum is only the first step in delivering an effective CAD learning experience. Once your course content is ready, the next task is making it accessible to students. With the Teacher Experience role on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, educators can quickly create classes, associate them with existing curricula, and invite students using several flexible methods.
Create a New Class in 3DEXPERIENCE
After opening the Classes section from the Curriculums menu, educators can view existing classes or create a new one with just a few clicks.
When creating a class, you can enter key details such as:
- Class name
- Description
- Start and end dates
- Associated curriculum
Connecting a class to an existing curriculum ensures that students gain access to the course materials that have already been prepared, helping streamline course management and delivery.
Three Ways to Invite Students
The Teacher Experience role offers multiple options for adding students to a CAD class, making it easy to accommodate different classroom setups.
Invite Students by Name
If students already have accounts on the platform, educators can simply search for and select them by name. This method is ideal for smaller classes or when adding individual students.
Invite User Groups
For institutions that organize learners into groups, entire user groups can be added to a class at once. This helps reduce administrative work when managing larger courses or multiple cohorts.
Import Students Using a CSV File
For bulk enrollment, educators can use a CSV template containing student email addresses. After completing the template, students can be invited directly from the file, making it easier to onboard an entire class efficiently.
Assign the Right Roles to Students
During class creation, educators can also assign student roles.
Two roles are required and automatically included:
- 3DSwym
- Collaborative Industry Innovator
These roles are essential for participation in the learning environment and cannot be removed.
Educators also have the option to assign 3D Designer for Education, which provides access to browser-based design applications, including xDesign, xShape, and other xApps available through the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
This additional role can expand the learning experience by giving students access to cloud-based design tools without requiring local software installation.
Get Your Students Ready to Learn
The Teacher Experience role simplifies class management by allowing educators to create classes, connect them to existing curricula, and invite students in the way that works best for their institution. Whether you’re adding individual learners, entire groups, or importing a full class list, the process is designed to help educators get students connected to their CAD coursework quickly.
With your class created and students enrolled, you’re ready for the next step: creating assignments and guiding learners through hands-on engineering and design activities.
